5 Printable Cards Every Photographer Should Have
Photography is a balance of creativity and technical knowledge. While modern cameras make things easier than ever, it’s still incredibly useful to have quick reference guides and practical tools available when you’re shooting or editing.
That’s why I’ve created a Free Photography Toolkit, a set of five printable cards designed to help photographers both in the field and at their editing workstation.
These cards are simple, practical tools that you can print at home and keep in your camera bag, or beside your computer while editing.
Whether you’re just getting started with photography or you’ve been shooting for years, these quick-reference cards can save time and help you get the most from your photos.
What’s Included in the Free Photography Toolkit
The toolkit includes five printable cards covering some of the most useful aspects of photography and photo editing.
Exposure Cheat Card
Understanding exposure is one of the most important foundations of photography.
This card provides a quick visual reference for the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. It helps photographers understand how these settings affect depth of field, motion blur, and image noise.
It’s ideal to keep in your camera bag as a quick reminder when you’re out shooting.
Lens Calibration Card
If your photos sometimes look slightly soft, even when you think everything is in focus, the issue could be autofocus calibration.
The lens calibration card helps you test the accuracy of your camera’s autofocus system. By photographing the chart and reviewing where the focus actually lands, you can quickly see if your lens is front focusing or back focusing.
This is especially useful when testing new lenses or troubleshooting focus issues.
White / Colour Balance Card
Getting accurate colour can be challenging, especially when shooting under mixed lighting conditions.
This printable card includes neutral reference tones that can be photographed within a scene to help correct white balance during editing.
It’s a simple tool that can make a big difference when colour accuracy matters.
Lightroom Shortcuts Card
Editing is often where a good photo becomes a great one.
This card includes a selection of useful Lightroom keyboard shortcuts that can help speed up your editing workflow and make navigating the software much easier.
If you use Lightroom regularly, having these shortcuts within easy reach can save a surprising amount of time.
Photoshop Shortcuts Card
For photographers who edit in Photoshop, keyboard shortcuts can dramatically improve efficiency.
This card highlights commonly used shortcuts that help streamline tasks such as working with layers, making selections, zooming, navigating, and transforming images.
It’s designed to sit beside your computer so you can quickly build these shortcuts into your workflow.

Designed to Be Printed and Used
All five cards are designed to be printed on a standard inkjet printer. The recommended size is 5×7 inches, making them easy to print, trim, and store in your camera bag.
Many photographers choose to laminate them so they stay protected and last longer when used on shoots.
